I bet that if you’re doing a search for SEO you probably already know what it means. You’re probably sitting there asking yourself and wondering just how to drive traffic to your website.
If you don’t know what SEO is then let me clear your head now and tell you before you rip your hair out trying to figure out what it is.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Something that Google doesn’t really like because most SEO agents try to use tricks and make it to where their sites are all spammy to trick Google into placing them in page 1. But lucky for you, they can’t really control much of the SEO out there because it is just simply impossible to do so. (CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT OUR SEO PACKAGES)
Just as much as Google hates SEO, you MUST have it in order for it to like you. Unless your site is a few years old (because it is widely known that serach engines love older sites that have managed to stay popular) and is growing in popularity by word of mouth, then you really do need to have some sort of plan to get your website up and going, otherwise it will simply be one of the millions out there that will never be known.
How do you think that websites get listed into Google, Yahoo, MSN, ASK, or other major search engines? Or for that matter how do you suppose that they even get indexed at all? Even if you do a manual submission, a brand new site can take up to a month before they send crawlers over to check it out and determine if you’re good enough to be indexed.
So what is the solution to this problem? Links of course! If Google finds a link that leads to your site, blog, or information page then it will crawl your website and determine whether or not it should index you into it’s search results. If it finds that you have quite a few links pointing to your site then Google thinks that you’re worth the time and will almost definitely index you.
However, getting index is not always what you want… because you can be indexed on the 10th page of Google and still not get any traffic whatsoever. It is a known fact that MOST people (I’m not saying all. But MOST never go off of the first page, instead they’d rather do a new search if they don’t find what they want on the first) But hey, at least you’re indexed right?
No! Not at all! That’s not what anyone wants. Everyone wants to be in at least the first two pages, preferably the first of google or major search engines.
So what is the solution you might ask? More links of course! The more people that Google finds pointing to your site/blog, then that means that you’re website must be worth it, therefore it is worthy of gaining trust, page rank (which takes a little longer to achieve), and eventually, being on the number one page of Google for your keywords.
Now, there are many different ways of gaining backlinksto your website. And honestly you can do this yourself without ever needing to pay someone to do it for you. But the problem with that is that it takes FOREVER to do, hours even. Many headaches on end.
